Judy Brush

Judy did not set out to sell a brush. She set out to stop losing hair to the one she had.

This is a cushioned paddle brush with nylon ball-tipped bristles, and both of those details matter. The cushion gives under pressure instead of forcing the bristles straight through a knot, and the rounded tips glide across your scalp rather than scratching it. That combination is what lets you detangle without the handful of broken hair in the sink afterward.

The flat, wide head covers more ground per stroke, which is the difference between a ten minute detangle and a thirty minute one. The easy-grip handle keeps your wrist out of it on long sessions. Work in sections from the ends up, never the roots down.

Safe on wet or dry hair, and built for every texture: coily, curly, wavy, straight. Used on dry hair it spreads your scalp's own oils down the strand, which is where shine actually comes from. Used on wet hair with a leave-in or a detangler, it moves through without ripping.

It also doubles as a scalp massager. A minute of slow strokes before you oil gets the blood moving and gets product where it needs to be.
